BIFENTHRIN 8 SC

BIFENTHRIN 8% SC is a renowned, new generation broad-spectrum insecticide of the pyrethroid group. It has contact and stomach action. It has a strong bonding tendency in the soil thus it persists and exhibits longer duration extraordinary control of termite.

It acts on the nervous system of insects and disrupts the function of neurons by interaction with the sodium channel.

It has been claimed to have a phyto-tonic effect which improves the vigor and keeps the crop healthy, thereby quality produce.

Being non- systemic it is less likely to show any residue in final agri-produce. 

This is an SC formulation and required costly manufacturing set up. SC formulations are safer environmentally and user-friendly too.

It is being sold with various tradenames by a range of companies. Few are listed herewith.

Officially it is recommended for spraying in Tea garden @1.25 ml per lit for control of red spider mite and tea mosquito bug. A minimum of 11 days gap should be kept between the spraying of this formula and the peaking of leaves. 

Another crop recommended for spraying is "apple" for control of mites. The dose is 7.5 ml/lit and each tray should be sprayed with 10 lit solutions. 21 days gap is needed between spraying and peaking. 

A farmer can experiment with this pesticide to control mites in related crops.

It is recommended to control bollworm, jassids, thrips, stem borer, leafhopper, brown planthopper, white back plant hopper, Fruit borer, etc It can be effectively used on cotton, cereals and pulses, vegetables, fruits, oilseeds, tea and tobacco, and other crops. As it shows ovicidal action, it controls all stages of pests.  Available in the market under various tradenames as indicated below. Buprofezin 23.1 + Fipronil 3.85 SC

 Buprofezin 23.1% + Fipronil 3.85% SC is an excellent pesticide formula that has a combination of two active ingredients. One acts on muscle and nerve to control adults whereas the second active ingredient prevents the growth of larvae so that new adults are not formed. It is being traded by Adama as Zohar . This formulation is recommended for the control of brown planthopper in rice. The dose is 1.5 ml/lit and the waiting period is 30 days. Farmers can experiment with this pesticide for control of similar pests in similar crops with help of experts.
